Restoration to chimney cornice

The client was concerned that the stones that were around the top of their chimney were in need of replacement as they were badly weathered and friable.

The old concrete flaunching was removed first and the bad sections of bath stone cornice were cut out to allow new stone to be inserted in its place.

New stone was hand carved and fitted to the chimney stack. A new lime based flaunching was used to cap the chimney and secure the chimney pot in place.
